Selfica in Gardens and Parks

Selfica is described by its practitioners as a system developed at Damanhur, Italy, using metal spirals, three-dimensional forms and symbolic geometry. This page is an English overview of Selfica în Grădini și Parcuri.

The approach described in the source

The Romanian working article explains Selfica in terms of practitioners' concepts of energy, intention and the organisation of space. These concepts should be understood as the language of that tradition, rather than as established physical mechanisms.

Outdoor settings

The article discusses proposed use in gardens, woodland, meditation routes, water features and places of rest. It names Damanhur and private landscape projects as contexts for further documentation. Its accounts and proposed reading list provide starting points for research, rather than independently verified evidence for every example.

Possible place within GTI

The proposal considers Selfica in the symbolic, emotional, social and ritual dimensions of a garden. An installation may be examined as an artistic object, a focus for intention or a way of marking a route or threshold.

Implementation questions

The working sequence consists of site assessment, definition of the intended experience, choice of a structure, positioning, practitioner-led activation and maintenance. Practical assessment should also consider the physical materials, installation and upkeep, and the needs of garden users.

Research and interpretation

Perceived experience, cultural meaning and claims of physical or therapeutic effects require different kinds of documentation. The source does not provide a clinical trial establishing efficacy for anxiety, ecosystem regeneration or other medical or biological outcomes.
